Event Tickets
Selling tickets on Don't Panic involves creating ticket separately then assigning it to an event. This allows the ticket purchase form to be displayed on the relevant event page.
Adding Tickets
In the Wordpress Admin navigate to the ticket section in the left hand panel.
Select the "Add new Ticket to page" button.
This takes you to the add ticket Screen.
Enter the name of the ticket where it says Add title
Ignore the content section underneath.
Ticket Types
Underneath the main content section there is a drop down tab. Click this to display a repeating area. There should be a section saying Ticket 1
Ticket fields
Name: - The name of the ticket
Early bird price: Early bird price
Price: Normal price
Max Purchase: The maximum quantity of tickets that can be purchased in one transaction
SKU: SKU Number. You only need this if you are tracking with Google Analytics
Early Bird end date: An expiry date for the early bird date price
Table ticket: Check this option to allow purchasers to enter guest information for each table member. This will change how the ticket displays in the backend.
Table places: The number of places on a table (If the table ticket option is selected)
You can add as many tickets as required.
Custom Booking Data
This section lets you add custom fields to the ticket purchase screen in the frontend. This is good for collecting extra information from the user. The custom field can be viewed in the dashboard and in the event CSV.
Ticket Options
This section must be filled out before the ticket purchasing goes live. These options affect all ticket types for this ticket.
Fields
Event: Select the event you want to assign tickets to. When you use the shortcode [display_event_tickets_two] if the event matches, the ticket purchase form will display. If you dont select an event, the tickets will not display on the frontend and users will be unable to purchase.
Tickets on Sale: Check this box to make tickets on sale. Checking this button will display the Book Tickets button on the Our Awards page - this allows users to purchase tickets.
Ticket VAT: Set VAT for tickets (If required). Leave blank or type zero for zero VAT events.
Currency List: Select the currency for the event. This will affect the currency charged to the users card and conversion rates.
This event has no vat: This will force all transactions to have zero VAT.
Apply VAT to all purchases: Applies VAT to all purchases. The reverse VAT rule doesnt apply. This means if the user is in the EU and enteres their VAT number VAT will still be charged.
Table tickets need all names: Checking this value will make all ticket detail fields required in the purchase process. Use this option for events that require full names for all visitors.
Event VAT Number: Entering a VAT number in this file. This VAT number will display in place of the default Don't Panic VAT number.
Event URL A link to the awards event site. This is a carry-over from the old site. Its not used.
Invoice Payment: A carry-over from the old site. It doesnt have any effect. You can ignore this setting.
Editing Tickets
The steps are the same as adding tickets, except you select the ticket from the list in the ticket. This brings up the edit screen that lets you change the ticket values.
Deleting Tickets
There are a few ways to delete tickets.
Naviagte to the Tickets section in the WP admin panel. Click Edit to bring up the Edit screen. Click the "Move to trash" button.
You can also click the "Trash" button on the tickets you want to delete on the ticket listing page.
You can also bulk delete by checking the tickets you want to delete then selecting "Move to trash" from the bulk actions drop down.
